UNIFEN CO2 cured Alkaline Phenolic Binder Series
UNIFEN binders are CO2 cured, single component alkaline phenolic resins.
Long bench times requested by all users, is the main aspect taken into consideration during development of this binder.
One of the main advantages of UNIFEN series is instant gain of strength during gassing. High curing rates under CO2 flow decreases gassing time, eliminates need for a waiting period before stripping and increases productivity.
With foundries using sand reclamation, alkaline additives in the binders are to be kept at the lowest figures for succesful usage of reclaimed sand for moulds and cores. UNIFEN binders with decreased alkaline amount, increases the quality and the ability of the reclaimed sand to bond without comprimising strength and curing capabilities.
UNIFEN B15
UNIFEN B15 is developed to have higher strength which is a
necessity in certain shaped cores or castings. Also the increased
resistance to water increases the mechanical strength of the
core even with the use of a water based refractory coating.
These properties enable foundrymen to produce cores with
less binder addition and therefore achieve less gas evolution
and lower costs.
UNIFEN B18
UNIFEN B18 is highly resistant to humidity. This property
enables the cores to be used with water based refractory
coatings.
Thin cores and cores require fast production rates can be
manufactured with very high efficiency and low production
losses thanks to its newly developed features.
UNIFEN binder series can be supplied in 65 kg cans , 250 kg drums and 1250 kg IBC containers.
